Women's basketball falls at Limestone, 82-69

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lander women's basketball team got 40 combined points from Zamiya Passmore and Amiaya Melvins, but could not overcome 23 turnovers and a stretch of cold shooting in an 82-69 loss at Limestone on Saturday afternoon.

Lander (3-2) was led by Passmore's 27 points, while Melvins finished with 13. Tabitha Dailey recorded 11 points and Jessica Harris posted 10 for the Bearcats. 

After battling to a 31-31 tie at halftime, Limestone (4-0) pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Lander 32-16 to build a 63-47 advantage. The Saints led by as many as 20 early in the fourth quarter. Lander made just two of its 18 three-point attempts in the contest. 

Lander returns to Finis Horne Arena on Tuesday afternoon to host Barton at 4:00 p.m.
