No. 8 men's tennis faces No. 1 Columbus State in NCAA Southeast Regional final

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 8-ranked and fifth-seeded Lander men's tennis team (18-5) takes on No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Columbus State (24-2) in the NCAA Southeast Regional final on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m., at the Walden Tennis Center.

STORYLINES

• Lander is making its 26th apperance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bearcats are 57-18 overall in the NCAA Tournament and are making their 14th consecutive appearance. Since joining the NCAA Division II ranks in 1992-93, the Bearcats have missed the NCAA Tournament just once. 

• The Bearcats and Cougars have met five times in the NCAA Tournament. Lander owns a 3-2 record against Columbus State in NCAA Tournament play, with their last meeting coming in 2016.

• Lander searching for its first win over the Cougars in six tries. 

• The Bearcats have won at least two matches in 15 of their previous 25 NCAA Tournament appearances.

• Lander is appearing in its seventh consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional final. 

• Seniors Ozan Cildir and Eirik Groner, junior Axel Cronje, and sophomore Adam Elliget were named to the All-Peach Belt team, giving Lander four All-PBC selections for the third consecutive season. 

• Cronje is ranked No. 50 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II men's national singles rankings, along with Cildir at No. 57 and Groner at No. 65. Cronje and Elliget rank No. 4 in the national doubles rankings.
